Duties of an Staff Nurse:
As the new Staff Nurse you will ensure high standards of care for patients and their families by ensuring delivery and management of direct nursing care.

The new Staff Nurse will operate within agreed standards in accordance with NMC code for nurses, whilst being accountable for nursing outcomes.

As the new Staff Nurse you will improve quality of care by helping the management of change in nursing practice based on evidence/ research whilst organising and planning own workload to meet patient need.

The right Staff Nurse will understand principles of delivering prescribed treatment safely to achieve positive patient outcomes, whilst coordinating and monitoring progress of patient care and report any variances as appropriate. The right Staff Nurse will ensure correct storage and administration of medications in accordance with hospital policies and NMC standards for Medicine Management, whilst ensuring the safe handling of drug keys at all times. As the new Staff Nurse you will practice multidisciplinary team care and contribute actively towards its successful management, whilst always acting as the patients advocate and work in accordance with nursing strategy to meet the hospital and nursing objectives.
