Job Description
  • Supporting Financial Controller on all aspects of operational/day-to-day finance. Fully involved in the continuous delivery of robust AP/AR/Management Accounting functions.
  • Leading month/period-end processes, including draft of MI for senior stakeholder use.
  • Regularly reporting at various levels, engaging with finance and non-finance staff alike.
  • Supporting statutory audit and accounting processes.
  • Motivating and leading a diverse operational finance function of 5+ staff. Carrying out 1-2-1's, appraisals and general management responsibilities as required.
  • Oversight over all transactional processes including certain approvals and escalated queries. Monitoring aged debt and remaining aware of potential quick wins where applicable.
  • Continuously contributing to the design and development of processes/systems/controls in order to drive efficiency and accuracy across operational finance.
  • Oversight over company payroll processes.
  • Interaction and occasional business partnering with commercial finance, senior leadership team and wider business functions.
  • Ad-hoc project involvement in conjunction with Financial Controller.

Profile

Essential

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with 2+ years post-qualification experience
  • Strong demonstrable Management Accounting and operational finance experience
  • 'Leads from the front' management style
  • Ambitious to grow with a business and progress beyond this role
  • Comfortable interacting with all stakeholders, including directors and trainees alike

Desirable

  • Background in external audit or accountancy practice
  • Prior experience leading or supervising a small team
