Job Description
A Bookkeeper is required to join an exciting, market-leading company in the brewing, food and drinks industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly competent bookkeeper who is seeking a role where they can bring and build on their existing expertise. This is a standalone position and would suit someone with in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting with a keen eye for detail.
You will be a key member of the team, reporting directly to the Managing Director and responsible for a wide variety of accounting activities including, but not limited to, customer invoicing, credit control, prepayments and accruals. You will work to support, process and monitor the financial, accounting and payroll transactions of the Company while ensuring accuracy and compliance and ultimately contributing to the delivery of the Company’s short and long term goals.
You will have 100% commitment and appetite to work in a small company environment and can hit the ground running while demonstrating strong communication skills both written and verbal.
To be successful in this position, you will have solid experience of working with Xero software and Microsoft Excel. You must be familiar with web based packages for approving invoices and processing expenses. An AAT qualification is desirable but a solid background and successful track record of bookkeeping and accounting is key.
Key responsibilities
Maintain and develop the accounting system
Customer invoicing
Credit control and statements
Supplier payments and management of online banking system
Answer suppliers’ and customers’ accounts enquiries
Generate and report management accounts to Director
Liaise with accountants and provide information for end of year audits and payrolls
Point of contact for accountants, banks and other financial services
Provide VAT and EC sales returns
Assist with development of annual budgets
Manage accounts entries against budgets and report differences
General administrative tasks
Qualifications and experience
Essential
Trained and experienced in XeroTM and other finance packages
Demonstrate a solid background and successful proven track record of bookkeeping and accounting experience to include pre-payments and accruals
Familiar with web based packages for approving invoices and processing of expenses
Proficiency to intermediate level in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel
